Retail First managed shopping centre Capalaba Park has been honoured at this year’s Australia-wide Shopping Centre Council of Australia (SCCA) Awards, winning the Little Guns – Digital Initiative category for their ‘Super Surprise’ Easter Egg Hunt.

The ‘Super Surprise Easter Egg Hunt’ brought a Pokemon Go style augmented reality to Capalaba Park, allowing members of their Park Points loyalty program to watch Easter come to life via their smart phones.

The SCCA Marketing Awards gives shopping centres throughout Australia the opportunity to be recognised in one of five main categories and promotes industry best practice. They are a great opportunity to profile the talent we have in the shopping centre industry and to celebrate the great marketing campaigns that are being rolled out across Australia. The winners were announced at the annual Awards Gala Dinner in Sydney on Wednesday 25th October.

Retail First Marketing Manager Christian Polglase said it was an honour for Capalaba Park to be recognized on a national stage.

“We love how our customers have embraced our Park Points program and the addition of the augmented reality hunts have given them a fun and unique way to keep the kids entertained whilst doing their weekly shop”.

Redlands locals can try out the award winning app when Capalaba Park launches the Secret Santa Hunt in late November.
