Greetings Planet Hunter!
It’s time to explore the galaxy at Capalaba Park! Grab your space map from outside Target so you can locate and name all 8 planets in the Solar System as you make your way throughout the Centre. Scan the QR Code on each planet to get your clues. Once you have named all 8 planet locations, take your answers to Centre Management, and collect your Alien String Slime prize (weekdays only)!
Great work, you have found a Planet! Here are your clues:
- This planet has the second largest gravity of any planet in the solar system
- It’s climate is extremely active. In its upper atmosphere, large storms sweep across it and high-speed solar winds track around the planet at up to 1,340 km per second. The largest storm was the Great Dark Spot in 1989 which lasted for around five years
- Named after the Roman God of the Sea. In Greek, this god is called Poseidon
- It has an average surface temperature of -214°C
- It has 14 known moons. The largest of these moons is Triton – a frozen world which spits out particles of nitrogen ice and dust from below its surface
- Like a few of the other planets in our solar system, this planet possesses a ring system, though its rings are very faint. They are most likely made up of ice particles and grains of dust with a carbon-based substance coating them
Now write your answer in the space provided on your Space Map! Once you have completed all 8 planets, collect your Alien String Slime from Centre Management (weekdays only)!
